Dr. Jaimi spent her early childhood in Madison, Wisconsin, before moving with her family to Battle Lake, Minnesota when she was 10 years old. At five years of age she declared her intent to become a veterinarian, although she pursued her interests in conservation biology and environmental education before returning to that childhood dream. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Carleton College and a Master of Science degree in Conservation Biology from the University of Minnesota. She worked as an outdoor science educator in Colorado, Alaska, and at Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center, where she developed a deep appreciation for the North Shore region. She then returned to the University of Minnesota for her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, followed by a year-long internship at Colorado State University. In 2013, she was excited to join the wonderful team at North Shore Veterinary Hospital.
For Dr. Jaimi, veterinary medicine blends her love of animals with her passion for teaching. She enjoys helping people understand their pets’ health and she values preventive care as a way to help pets live longer, healthier lives with the people who love them.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Jaimi enjoys exploring the woods and waters of Minnesota and Wisconsin, photographing landscapes, reading, and exploring destinations in Ireland, Scotland, and Latin America. She is a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan, a proud hockey aunt, and has a special fondness for black cats.
